Lake Biel and St. Peter's Island in view
This tour, which starts barely two kilometres outside of Biel, offers a host of panoramic views. The first compulsory photo stop is just a couple of hundred metres along the route where a unique prospect spreads before you, featuring St. Peter's Island centre-stage. The deep blue waters of Lake Biel will be your constant companion from now on.

The winegrowing villages of Twann and Ligerz
The second attractive subject is waiting for you to snap at Twann, where picturesque winding alleyways create a cosy ambience. The picture is the same in Ligerz, where the famous church provides what is probably the most popular photo stop.

Over the linguistic border
The tour ends at historic La Neuveville, or Neuenstadt as the German-speakers of Bern call it. The old town is well worth seeing, and you are sure to be tempted to linger awhile; the lakeside promenade is one of the loveliest on Lake Biel.

Pilgrims' Way
After the Twannbach, the most beautiful stage of this hike begins at Kleintwann: the Pilgrims' Way, past dry stone walls and vineyards. It finishes at the ancient church in Ligerz, with an incomparable panoramic view. A steep climb leads to the hamlet of Schernelz. You should not miss the panorama of Lake Biel and St. Peter's Island.

Description of the route
