Once rural in nature, Aegerten has changed fundamentally in recent years. Today, Aegerten is an attractive suburb of Biel/Bienne with a high quality of life. Beautiful hiking and cycle paths run along the Aare, across the Jensberg and through the fields and meadows. The nature trail along the Aare offers delightful scenery and is highly suitable for families with children, while the various restaurants offer a chance for a restful break. The “Bürglen” church, first mentioned in 817 A.D., is one of the landmarks of the townscape with its fine architecture.
