Evilard/Leubringen and Magglingen/Macolin

With 2'400 inhabitants, the bilingual municipality of Evilard comprises the village of Evilard and the “sport village” of Magglingen/Macolin and is situated on an extended ridge above the city of Biel/Bienne, with the Bernese Jura behind it and the Seeland at its foot. It is an extremely attractive residential village characterised by fine detached houses, stylish villas and protected historic buildings. The larger residential buildings also meet the highest standards. Its population enjoys a peaceful life in the countryside right next to the city of Biel/Bienne and slightly further from the capital, Bern. Only small-scale industries have settled in Evilard itself, but the municipality still offers a certain amount of high-quality goods for everyday use. The economic area of the watchmaking city of Biel/Bienne and the Bernese plateau provides the well-educated population with plenty of interesting jobs. Although the municipality is located above the Seeland in geographical terms, the main transport connections in all directions are only about 5 km away.
