This little village is not as gloomy and corrupt as Dürrenmatt’s works might suggest. On the contrary: the locals are welcoming, happy and cheerful. They cherish their natural landscape, which offers plenty of hiking opportunities in summer and winter alike. In winter, the Twannberg/Montagne de Douanne with the Prés de Macolin allows sports enthusiasts to enjoy cross-country skiing and cross the snow-covered, sunlit and magical Jura landscape on snowshoes. In summer, you can reach Mont Sujet along a charming woodland path decorated with wooden sculptures and at the top, the wonderful view of the Three Lakes Region will take your breath away! There are two hospitable restaurants to revive hungry or thirsty hikers. Those who would like to admire the starry skies and spend the night there can book accommodation in the Bergerie du Haut and sample the regional wine and succulent sausages.
