Rapperswil (520 m above sea level), located on a fertile plateau between the Seeland (Lakeland) and the Unteremmental, is a vast and rather complex community including the villages of Rapperswil, Frauchwil, Wierezwil, Seewil, Moosaffoltern, Lätti, Dieterswil, Bittwil, Zimlisberg/Holzhäusern, Vogelsang and Ruppoldsried. Rapperswil is bordering on the Canton of Solothurn and the villages of Scheunen cheunen, Deisswil, Münchenbuchsee, Schüpfen, Grossaffoltern, Wengi, Bangerten and Messen.
