Täuffelen and Gerolfingen form one single political entity. The name Täuffelen might be derived from "Tofferes" (peat stone pits). Gerolfingen was originally an Alemannic settlement. Täuffelen-Gerolfingen occupy the high ground above the south shore of Lake Biel. On clear days in early summer the colorful cherry trees contrast beautifully with the blue of the lake below. Täuffelen-Gerolfingen is easily reached from Biel by ASm-train "Biel-Ins".
