"On our team outing, we travelled to Kallnach in the finest summer weather to visit the Matter-Luginbühl distillery. After a dignified apéritif of absinthe or Martinazzi in the evening sun, Olivier Matter introduced us to his fascinating line of work, distilling and also the history and production of the legendary absinthe. We heard all about the spirit known as the “green fairy” and now we also know the meaning of the phrase “heure verte”! After the presentation, we enjoyed an excellent supper together in a comfortable setting."

Now in its fourth generation, the distillery produces fine spirits, liqueurs and the apéritif Martinazzi by traditional methods. It specialises in the production of authentic absinthes from the 19th century and has won international awards for its reproduction of Duplais and Brevan’s recipes. One of its best-known products is Mansinthe, created in collaboration with Marilyn Manson.
