"I start my cycle tour around the Jolimont at the station in Ins. First I cycle along a small canal up to the height of Gampelen. The level terrain is ideal, so I make quick progress. Then the route runs along the larger Zihl canal towards Lake Biel. I visit the pretty little town of Erlach, enjoy a cooling drink in a restaurant and scale the castle mound on foot (with my bike waiting below) to admire the fabulous view of Lake Biel with St. Peter’s Island. After Vinelz there is a slight climb to the Oberi Budlei to overcome before the reward on the descent to Ins, a glorious view across the Great Marsh all the way to Mont-Vully/Lake Murten."
