"Invigorated by a coffee and croissant, I start at Biel station and follow the cycle path towards Solothurn. To begin with, the path runs along the right bank of the Aare, then from Orpund I switch to the left-hand side of the river. I visit the historic small town of Büren on the Aare. Then, as I continue to ride, the journey along the Aare becomes more and more natural. The beauty of nature invites me to enjoy a picnic followed by a refreshing footbath. Elegant storks on the rooftops signal my arrival in Altreu. Only 10 km (6 miles) left until Solothurn, where I admire the beautiful town centre before beginning the well-earned return journey by boat. The pleasant breeze on the boat and a glass of chilled wine from the region – heavenly!"
