"Allow 70 km (43 miles), or four stages, to complete the whole of the hike from Erlach to Solothurn. I must admit that, when on a trip in the Three-Lakes Region, I only walked the first stage. My advice: take time to visit Erlach (known as Cerlier in French), the starting point. Its castle and winding alleyways are seriously worth spending some time to explore. St. Peter’s Island will be the destination of a future trip in the region, as the footpath runs alongside Lake Biel. I really appreciated the natural and wild state of the shores. What’s more, there are various picnic and barbecue spots all the way along the path. When I arrived in Biel, I promised myself I would return to finish this wonderful hike to Solothurn."
